This fully renovated 3 bedroom townhouse should make you re-examine your wants versus needs list. For non-residents, this is especially relevant. It can be a challenge to undergo a renovation from afar. I expect you were wanting a ski-in ski-out townhome, however owning in Mountain Star means that you can ski or ride home, and it is only a very short stroll to the access path which leads to Merlin’s Run on Blackcomb Mountain. Please see my video below. The listing realtor has described the property as ski-in ski-out, that is how close the access trail is to Mountain Star.
Extent of Renovation
The renovation entailed removing everything in the townhome which could be replaced, then, rebuilding it. In the trade we call this “taking it back to the studs”. This means that the wiring, and the plumbing were replaced before new drywall was added. Not all renovations entail this level of work. Some, do not rip out the wiring and plumbing, even though it may be 20 years old. So, there is no doubt, that this is a quality renovation, which will last for the next 20 years. I call this an hassle-free renovation. Whilst the renovation is quoted as costing $350,000, it may be the best $350,000 you will ever spend.

Ski-in/Ski-out Access to Mountain Star
The ski-in access trail comes off Blackcomb Mountain and the first left is for Mountain Star. To ski-out onto Blackcomb Mountain you simply walk to the entrance of Mountain Star, past the bus stop, and within 50 feet is the entrance to the short access trail on to Blackcomb Mountain. The reason the listing realtor has termed this property ski-in ski-out is possibly because the distance to the ski-access trail is so close. She is right, it is very close.
Access to Whistler Village
At the entrance to Mountain Star there is a bus stop. That bus stop services the free bus service to and from Whistler Village. The bus service is scheduled for every 15 minutes in winter. This is a huge benefit to owning in Mountain Star. In addition, because it is a free service on this route, there is no pain of finding change or your bus pass every time you leave your townhome.
For more information on this property, have a look at the Mountain Star page on this site. There is no more dual agency in Whistler. The listing agent represents the seller, and you the buyer, have your own representation. Please call me, if you are not working with a realtor. I look forward to helping you find your Whistler home.
