The Ridge is for skiers and snowboarders who just want to get out and enjoy the mountain as much as possible. Access to the Dave Murray Downhill is very convenient and is for all level of experience.
“Buyers either love the remoteness of Taluswood, or they want something closer to the action of Whistler Village. No bus service up to Taluswood, so you are either taking the car or a cab. It is not feasible to walk down or up from the nearest bus stop.

The Ridge is located at 2269 Nordic Drive, Whistler, BC. These townhomes were quoted in the developer’s brochure as the “…benchmarks of contemporary mountain architecture. They stand on a commanding prow of land affording panoramic views of the Tantalus range…” It really depends where in the Ridge you are situated for that panoramic views, the front row of properties definitely have that panoramic view, but the middle and back rows in the Ridge generally do not have that view…but that doesn’t mean you should write them off.
Each townhouse has either a single or double car garage garage. The rooms are a good size, with lots of windows for great sunlight. Table of Contents.

Built in 1997, the development has 2-4 bedroom units. There are two detached chalets, several duplexes, triplexes and a four-plex. I understand that there are only two units with 2 bedrooms, so keep that in mind should one be listed. It could be years until a two bedroom comes on the market. Some have a neighbour only through the adjoining wall, while other units have a neighbour through the adjoining wall(s) and above/below…it is a mixed bag of floor plans up in the Ridge.
There are 26 units and each is zoned for nightly rental. Due to the layout of each building, the townhouse may have a single, or a double car garage. There is also visitor parking. Each townhouse is permitted a private hot tub. Table of Contents.
There are no floor plans available for SL 1-15…that doesn’t mean they do not exist, but right now, all I have are Floor Plans of units 16-26 which corresponds to the site plan below. Table of Contents.

The Ridge, like all the other Taluswood properties, is predominately a winter rental, and your main competition would be the Heights and the Ridge. There is no reason why anyone would rent in Taluswood in the summer. The location so far away from the Village or the Valley Trail that unless you own up in Taluswood, it really doesn’t seem to be an attraction for summer vacationers. The Fitzsimmons Creek townhouses are within an easy walking distance to the village are of a similar quality and size, and Montebello is another 3 bedroom rental option. You will make your revenue here during the ski season…as long as you don’t decide that you want to stay at your property when everyone else does. Table of Contents.

There is one access to the Dave Murray Downhill. This access acts as the ski-in trail and the ski-out trail. Granted, there is an incline to get back into the Ridge. However, when I held an open house at #20, which was directly across the lane from the ski-in/ski-out access, I saw all ages and abilities of skiers/boarders come up the incline and into the Ridge. The access to the slopes is the best out of the Ridge, Heights and the Lookout. Table of Contents.

There is no bus service up to Taluswood, so you will be depending on your car, or taxi. Taluswood is too high up Whistler Mountain to walk down the mountain or down Nordic Drive to catch the bus…you just wouldn’t do it regularly. The bus service does run along Eva Lake Road in the Nordic neighbourhood, but it really is too far to walk to from Taluswood. I have clients who say they could ride a bike up Nordic Drive to Taluswood, and I expect they could…but unless you have recently trained for the Grande Fondo, I would just take a cab or drive.
