April 2020 Whistler Market Update and Covid-19 Pandemic Effect

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a detrimental effect on Whistler Real Estate. There have been zero sales to date in the month of April. Compare that to April 1-13, 2019 when we had 22 Sales. Covid-19 Effect On April 2020 Compared To April 2019

Not much explanation needed here. Less sales, more listings puts pressure on downward pricing. With 11 new listings in April, anyone who lists right now must know that it looks as though they have to get out of the market.

  • Sales from April 1 – April 13, 2020 = Zero
  • Sales from April 1 – April 13, 2019 = 22
  • New Listings April 1 – April 13, 2020 = 11
  • New Listings April 1 – April 13, 2019 = 4

If you are interested in securing Whistler Real Estate then it is important to start getting educated on what is happening in the Whistler market. The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are just getting started, especially since March 2020 sales were not unremarkable. Watching real estate prices react to any global situation is always something to watch, but especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
