Whistler Ski-in Ski-out Luxury Homes For Sale
Whistler ski-in ski-out luxury homes for sale come with a big price tag. This trophy is the ultimate possession in, consistently voted, North America’s #1 Resort. Owners are very reluctant to sell, and even more reluctant to leave the resort. What could top owning this type of property in Whistler? This category pulls together blog posts on houses in Kadenwood, Snowridge Crescent, Taluswood, Nordic and Summit Lane.
Sleeve Listings of Ski-in ski-out Luxury Homes
Some of the posts may pertain to houses which are no longer listed for sale, but that doesn’t mean that they have sold. It can take years to sell a house priced over $6 million CAD. After a year on the market, the owner may tell their listing agent that yes, they want to sell the house, but they don’t want it marketed. There are several ski-in ski-out houses like this, they are called “sleeve listings”. In summary, if Marion does not know of any suitable sleeve listings for you, she has the established relationships with agents who may have sleeve listings. This is where working with buyer’s agent, Marion Anderson will be your advantage. Whatever you do, pick an agent who has successfully sold luxury real estate…like Marion.
The route and distance from Whistler Village up Glacier Drive to Base 2 is shown on the video below. The drive starts at the entrance to Whistler Village off Highway 99. From there I travel along Village Gate Boulevard to Blackcomb Way and then up Glacier Drive. For those who are considering the purchase of some of the best ski-in ski-out property in Whistler, then you are looking at property with a Glacier Drive address. Pinnacle Ridge, Cedar Ridge, Cedar Hollowand Summit Lane are all accessed via Glacier Drive.
Location to Whistler Village
Whenever I am showing property to buyers, and it doesn’t matter if it is ski-in/ski-out, or not they always ask about proximity to Whistler Village. The reason for this is that Whistler Village is a magnet for those wondering what to do with their day, which makes a lot of sense if the weather is not conducive to the activity that was planned. This is especially true of the winter season when the weather can be stormy.
Access to Village
I don’t recommend walking on Glacier Drive at any time of the year. Unfortunately, it does not have a sidewalk, and it is lined on either side with concrete blocks. Therefore, the snow plow clears the snow off the road up to the edge of, and over the blocks. In addition, the road is very twisty and vehicles hug the side of the road. Therefore, in winter Glacier Drive is for travelling by car or bus but not for walking. When the snow melts I have seen people walking down behind the concrete blocks, but by that time, the snow is melting off the slopes so it is safer to walk down the ski-runs.
If you think I would be a good fit to work with you and your family, please call me. You may not end up with a ski-in/ski-out property, but it is a great place to start looking.
There are seven houses and one duplex located on Summit Lane, and yet only two can be seen from the Magic Chair. I call this chairlift, a tortoise because it is painfully slow, and very old. However, it does the job because it services the Magic Run which is for all beginners. I shot this two minute video in February 2020 and it shows you the privacy of Summit Lane. In addition, it is a view only seen from the Magic Chair. For more information and videos on this special location, please click through to the Summit Lane page on this site.
This video on the ski-in/ski-out trail to and from Big Timber Court is the last in this series of Kadenwood videos. No particular reason that it is last, as Big Timber Court was in the first phase of the Kadenwood development. To understand all that this neighbourhood offers, please visit the Kadenwood page on this site.
The Small Enclave Called Big Timber Court
Big Timber Court is a favourite of mine for the following reasons:
Only five strata lots;
Three strata lots are completely out of sight from anyone travelling up Kadenwood Drive;
Unobstructed views as Big Timber Court is on the southern edge of Kadenwood;
Three homes are already built, and the other two are lots, yet to be developed;
Easy walk to the ski-in trail leading to the Lower Peak to Creek run on Whistler Mountain.
Kadenwood is a wonderful location in Whistler. I spent a lot of time up there last year, and got to appreciate again what a stunning location it is. Anyone who is seeking privacy, solitude or a ski-in/ski-out access to a world class mountain, surely must be considering this area.
Please have a look at the Kadenwood page on this site to understand the area, and if you have time, check out the Ski-in/Ski-out Luxury House Locations page. This page provides a comparison chart to compare the areas where detached houses are available for those looking to easily access Blackcomb Mountain and Whistler Mountain.
