CEDAR RIDGE-Blackcomb Mtn.

Cedar Ridge, 4705 Glacier Drive, Whistler, B.C.

“The location of Cedar Ridge, 4705 Glacier Drive, Whistler, BC, like neighbouring Cedar Hollow drives a quick sale. Along with a single car garage, which is a huge bonus in any Whistler accommodation, this space allows for the owner to store skis, boards and a variety of bikes.

Parking is always at a premium in Whistler, so it is important to park the car and then walk, or take the bus to and from the village…which would be an automatic thought when you owned in Cedar Ridge. Not the best curb appeal but if you can overlook that, you would never be disappointed with the location.

There is also an opportunity for owners to renovate or rebuild and incorporate the majority of the decks and the space over the garage. For an end-unit this is an additional 500 sq. ft. and for an non-end unit, approximately 250 sq. ft.  Please see Expansion Plans in the table of contents below. Some owners have down wonderful renovations that also maximize the interior ceiling height giving a greater sense of space. No wonder these are now luxury townhomes sold around $2,000/sq. ft.” – Marion.

Revenue and nightly rates in Cedar Ridge

This is a great opportunity to generate revenue from you ski-in ski-out townhouse with private hot tub. I expect it will depend on what you pay for the property. Not many people renting out Cedar Ridge when you paid $2000/sq. ft. to purchase it in 2017.

You can use any rental management company you wish, or you can self-manage your townhouse, if you have the motivation. For nightly rental rates on this property and other ski-in ski-out properties search the internet. Whistler Platinum, Whistler Premier and Whistler Wired may have some Cedar Ridge rental properties this season. Check out www.AlluraDirect.com and the other nightly, rental by owner sites. Return to table of contents

Ski-in ski-out access to/from Cedar Ridge

Have a look at the Building site plan (see table of contents above) and you will see the ski-in ski-out access points. Obviously some townhomes are closer to the hill than others, but really, they are all within a very short walk to the Village Run on Blackcomb Mountain.

The benefit is that the Village Run leads into Whistler Village and gives you a choice of uploading to the Roundhouse on Whistler Mountain on the Whistler Village Gondola or uploading to Blackcomb Mountain on the Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola. There is also a third option which uploads to Whistler Mountain on the Fitzsimmons chair.

In summary, you have a great selection so that you can choose the shortest line for the weather conditions.  No other ski access trail leads to Whistler Village apart from this Cedar Ridge trail. Return to table of contents.

Strata fees include snow-clearing, landscaping and garbage removal.

Parking in Cedar Ridge

Every townhouse has a single car garage, and a space on the pad outside the garage, this is about it for parking.  There are a few visitor spots but you would really want to bring as few vehicles as possible up to Whistler…you certainly won’t need them in this location, once you arrive. Return to table of contents.

Transit bus service to/from Cedar Ridge

In the world of real estate, this area up on Glacier Drive is referred to as the Benchlands, which is serviced by a free shuttle bus. In the world of Whistler transit, www.bctransit.com/whistler, this bus route 7 is not acknowledged as the Benchlands. This means that you need your fare ready. The best part is that there is bus stop on either side of Glacier Drive. They are very close to the joint entrance to Cedar Hollow and Cedar Ridge.

I would not advise walking up or down Glacier Drive at any time of day and especially not at night. Return to table of contents.
