Woodrun, 4910 Spearhead Place, Whistler slope-side on Blackcomb Mountain is one of the few concrete buildings in the Benchlands. The benefit is the soundproofing in the building especially between floors. In addition to that benefit, the majority of the Woodrun condos have some of the best natural light in the Benchlands.
The condos on the south side of the Woodrun have an unrestricted view (which means no trees blocking the south/west sunshine) so these condos get terrific sunlight for most of the day
The Woodrun has a lot going for it with the swimming pool which is a year-round attraction for renters. It is also steps from Merlin’s Run on Blackcomb Mountain, and easy walking distance to the Base of Blackcomb. You should be able to enjoy or generate rental income year-round in the Woodrun.

When starting your initial search for Whistler real estate, it is important to understand the current market conditions. The Woodrun and the Greystone Lodge are neighbours, and further up the side of the slopes that the Aspens. Therefore, the walk to the Base of Blackcomb would take you an extra couple of minutes, but that is all. The condos on the south-side of the Woodrun have an unrestricted view. Meaning that there are no trees blocking the south/west sunshine, so these condos get terrific sunlight for most of the day.
Spearhead Drive is a quiet road despite the fact that it is heavily populated with accommodation. Spearhead Place is quieter as the only traffic is for the Woodrun, or for visitors to the Greystone who are entering via the front doors. Therefore, owning a condo overlooking the entrance of the Woodrun will give you a view to the mountains in the west, and no traffic noise.
Most people who buy in the Benchlands park the car the minute they arrive, and walk everywhere or use the free bus service. The nearest bus stop is on Spearhead Drive. The bus travels up Painted Cliff to the top, and then back to Whistler Village via Spearhead Drive. This service runs about 8 times an hour in winter and just slightly less the rest of the year. The Woodrun photos were taken in March and the sun seems to shine on the building from as early as 1pm.
Riding the lift up Blackcomb Mountain, the Woodrun location jumps out. This is because it is steps away from Merlin’s run while other properties are set back. Merlin’s Run leads down to the new ten passenger gondola which will transport you up to the Peak to Peak Station. The Blackcomb Mountain world-class groomers do a great job of moving snow around on these lower slopes. This means that the properties located on Blackcomb Mountain remain a true ski-in/ski-out even if the snow has started to disappear from the lower slopes in spring.

The front desk of the Woodrun is managed by a property rental management company. However, there are no restrictions on which rental management company you can use, and you can self-manage. The Woodrun condos are ideal for generating revenue year round simply because of: the year-round swimming pool; the year-round hot tub; the ski-in ski-out location; and the easy walk to the Village, in all four seasons.
Built in 1991, property has 1 bed and den, 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom and den, 3 bedroom and 3 bedroom and den condos. There are 85 units and several floor plans for each condo configuration. The Woodrun is zoned for nightly rental, which is optional. Amenities include:

In addition, the plan will identify the common property of which, as a strata lot owner you will also own a portion of the common and limited common property.
The front desk is operated by the Whistler Platinum (WP) an established, Whistler rental management company. This benefits all owners in the Woodrun, but mostly those who retain WP to manage the rental of their Woodrun condo.
The costs which are covered by the monthly strata fees are outlined in strata financials. They include, but are not limited to:

The storage in The Woodrun is the best of all the Blackcomb Mountain ski-in/ski-out condo buildings. The reason is that the access to these rooms is off the lobby, past the front desk. In other buildings, the storage is down in the gunnels of the underground parking:
- in-suite storage is a closet with a lock, adequate to hold some winter clothing and boots.
- ski/board storage for guests located off the main level.
- ski/board storage for owners in the underground garage. This storage room seemed secure and is not in an obvious area for anyone to come across.
- communal bike storage in the underground garage.
There is gated, underground parking for The Woodrun. The number of spots per condo is detailed in the Form B. Count on one parking spot for a one and a two bedroom condo.
