What’s Happening in the Whistler Real Estate Market?
A Balanced Market suggests to some that there should be a lot of action happening in the Whistler real estate market. After all, there has not been this much inventory since September 2020, and there are plenty of Buyers.
Negotiation
This balance in the market means that the sellers and the buyers are not connecting with each other. The Seller, convinced that their Whistler property is in demand is not ready to lower the price to attract an offer. The Buyer is looking at new listings and questioning the price. Why list a property based on a comparable to a property that has been sitting on the market for 30 days?
It takes an experienced, local Whistler realtor to negotiate this disconnect. That means I need to understand the seller’s BATNA, the Best Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement. If we can understand whether the Seller needs to sell, or wants to sell, that will give you, the Buyer more power in the negotiation. In order to negotiate the best terms for the Buyer, I need to understand the Seller’s options, and that takes skill and negotiation experience.
